Trans Care BC’s mission is to provide resources and information to all people navigating gender-affirming care pathways in British Columbia. Information about health and health care systems can be dense, complicated and inaccessible. Our program seeks to identify and address information barriers to better serve our audience.

This spring, we’ve launched a series of online tools designed to support access to complex information.

  • Hormone effects tool: People considering gender-affirming hormone therapy have many questions about what effects to expect and when. Our new tool helps users to visualize the potential effects of hormones on the body and provides information about expected changes, timing and reversibility. Try out the Estrogen-based hormones or Testosterone-based hormones tools for yourself.
  • Guide to changing ID: Changing your name or gender marker on legal identity documents is a complicated and intimidating process. We are pleased to unveil a new and improved version of Trans Care BC’s resource How to change your ID. The tool includes visual aids and up-to-date legal information for individuals looking to update federal documents or BC provincial documents.

Explore these new resources and share with community members who may benefit from accessing this information. We welcome feedback on these tools, so don’t hesitate to contact us with your thoughts.
