Trans Care BC shares new resource pages for specific audience groups

Last year, Trans Care BC launched the Information for... section of our website, which presents information tailored to specific audience groups. This targeted information acknowledges the multiple barriers many people face while navigating gender-affirming care.
These pages support our mission to provide relevant and culturally sensitive information for trans, Two-Spirit and non-binary people of diverse experiences. We are pleased to announce the expansion of this area of the website to address a wider range of intersecting identities.
Our site now offers resource pages for:
- People with disabilities: This page is for trans, Two-Spirit and non-binary people with disabilities, whether visible or invisible, clinically diagnosed or undiagnosed. It answers common questions about gender-affirming care considerations for disabled people and gives tips for working with caregivers as well as self-advocating in medical settings.
- Older adults: Addressed to people transitioning later in life as well as older people who transitioned some time ago, this page offers information on gender-affirming care considerations for older people. It also provides advice for coming out to family & friends, planning for end of life and fighting loneliness.
- Neurodivergent people: This page is for gender diverse people with ADHD, autism and other neurodivergent identities. It lays out what to expect from a gender-affirming care journey, provides information about the way sensory processing differences can affect gender affirmation strategies and offers suggestions for how to support yourself or work with support people.
We hope these pages will further our goal of delivering inclusive resources and information to the many communities we serve.
Please contact us if you have thoughts or feedback on any of these webpages, or would like to share additional resources.
