What is Project ECHO™?

Project ECHO™ (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is an evidence-based model that leverages technology to create a virtual community of practice on specialized topics in health care.

  • Create a community of learning by connecting an interprofessional specialist team (HUB) with healthcare providers (Community Partners or “Spokes”).
  • Build specialty care capacity in underserved communities.

Through monthly videoconferencing sessions and a case-based learning model, Project ECHO™ aims to strengthen primary care and allied health capacity in key priority areas for transgender health care. Sessions are engaging, interactive, practical and evidence-based.

Why join Project ECHO™?

  • It’s free — ECHO is funded by Health Canada and has no cost for participants.
  • It’s virtual — All you need is a computer and a web cam, or a smartphone.
  • It’s fun — Connect with a growing community of primary and community care providers across the province and build a Community of Practice.
  • Earn CME credits — ECHO Trans Care BC has been certified by UBC CPD for Mainpro+ credits depending on session length and attendance.
  • It works for you and our system — ECHO represents a significant opportunity to improve individual knowledge and skills and also reduce disparities in the quality of care for rural and underserved areas.
