This week join us to learn more about supports available for TTNB individuals and their parents, care givers, and/or loved ones. This week we will be joined by Sea 2 Sky Allies and Gender Journeys.

  • Gender Journeys addresses the need for a safe, inclusive space where 2-spirit, trans, nonbinary, gender-diverse and questioning adults in the Nanaimo area can connect, support each other, and access community resources. The group offers a mix of social and educational opportunities—including film nights, games, skill sharing, and clothing swaps. The group has hosted impactful sessions on accessing gender-affirming care, legal rights, trans history, self-compassion, and body image. These gatherings not only build knowledge but also reduce isolation and foster a sense of belonging and mutual support within the local trans and gender diverse community.

  • Sea 2 Sky Allies is a local nonprofit dedicated to fostering allyship and supporting 2SLGBTQ+ individuals and families throughout the Sea-to-Sky region. Founded in 2019 by Kristin Trotter (she/her), a Registered Clinical Counsellor specializing in gender-affirmative care for youth and young adults, and Catherine Trueman (she/her), a proud parent of a transgender son, S2S Allies is rooted in lived experience and professional expertise. Together, they are committed to showing up as allies in meaningful ways—offering gender-affirmative support, resources, and education to benefit both residents and visitors of the Sea-to-Sky community.
