Rainbow Refugee is dedicated to providing assistance solely to LGBTQI+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex) individuals seeking refugee status in British Columbia, Canada. Our support is specifically tailored to those who have experienced persecution based on their SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression, and Sex Characteristics) or HIV status.The Inland program offers a range of virtual and in-person support services, including drop-ins, workshops, and information sessions throughout the claim process. These services aim to provide legal guidance and assistance with navigating the system for LGBTQIA+ pre- and refugee claimants. Support includes legal resources for starting a claim, applying for a legal aid certificate, connecting with a suitable lawyer, one-on-one support, and assistance during Refugee Protection Division (RPD) hearings.
